HIV/Aids Education and Block Party
Our recent HIV/AIDS education block party was a powerful community event aimed at raising awareness, providing vital information, and fostering a supportive environment. Held at North United Methodist Church, the event featured educational booths staffed by healthcare professionals from BU Wellness, offering free HIV testing and informational pamphlets. Constructing Our Future provided specific educational information for formerly incarcerated women living with HIV.
Attendees were treated to live performances of dance, poetry and song. This block party reflected our commitment to building a well-informed community where everyone, especially formerly incarcerated women feel empowered to prioritize and take control of their health. By combining education with a friendly, inclusive atmosphere, we hope to continue breaking down barriers and creating pathways to prevention and care.
